Guidelines to the Authors

Submission of manuscripts is totally online. If you are a new user to the on-line system please register and enter the requested information. If you are already a registered user, please do not register again. Please log-in by entering your userid and password to access your account.

Manuscripts preparation guidelines

Authors are required to format their manuscript using the IETE template. To download the template, CLICK HERE. You will find the required guidelines in the downloaded template. The length of the manuscript should not exceed six journal pages after formatting. Upload your manuscript either in Ms-Word or PDF format, also including all figures, tables author(s) bios and photos in the main file and upload the high resolution images through 'Add Images' screen.

Manuscripts which do not follow the IETE template format will be returned to the authors. SI units should be used where possible. All equations must be numbered consecutively. All references must be listed in the following manner:

Reference to a journal paper

[1] A. Rahman, J. Guo, S. Datta, and M. S. Lundstrom, “Theory of ballistic nanotransistors,” IEEE Trans. Electron Devices, vol. 50, pp. 1853-64, September 2003.

Reference to a conference paper:

[2] J. Wang and M. Lundstrom, “Does source-to-drain tunneling limit the ultimate scaling of MOSFETs?” in International Electron Devices Meeting Tech. Digest, San Francisco, Dec. 2002, pp. 707 – 710.

Reference to a book:

All reference must be shown as numbers in a square bracket and must be listed in the same order as given in the list of references.

All tables must be given suitable captions and must be numbered consecutively.

Note on plagiarism:

Copyright

Authors are required to transfer the copyright to IETE once the manuscript is accepted. All the authors should sign the copyright form. A scanned copy of the copyright form duly filled-in and signed should be uploaded in the system in ‘Article Cycle’ page.

Manuscript Length & Processing

The length of a manuscript should be of 6 Journal pages including Figures, References, Authors’ Bios and Photos. If the number of pages of the accepted manuscript exceeds 6 pages, the Authors will be charged Rs.1000/- (for Indian Authors) and USD 50 (for Foreign Authors) for each extra journal page exceeding the limit of 6 pages.

We expect to complete the review process within about 3 months. Authors will be intimated about the acceptance/rejection of the manuscript by the Editor-in-Chief. If the manuscript requires a revision, authors need to prepare a point-by-point response to the reviewers’ comments and identify these changes in the revised manuscript. Authors are given 4 – 6 weeks for submitting the revision. Authors can monitor the progress of their manuscript by visiting the journal’s website and by using the author’s account. Authors can also contact the handling Editor for any questions regarding their manuscript.
